Say no to a certain degree of foolishness

Ever since I became a teen, my father always pushes me to learn how to drive. He always tells me that it can help me soon in my future while me back then didn't care about cars and stuff. He taught me on how to properly change gears (transmission), how to not forget to press the clutch pedal before pressing the brake, and lots of basic driving techniques. I first learned from him - rounding around our subdivision every afternoon. When he left for work abroad, my cousin had been my "substitute teacher".. With him, I only apply those what I had learned from my father. Habang tumatagal, hindi na ko natutuwang gumising ng maaga (5AM) just to practice driving - well actually, ayoko ng magpaturo nun sa pinsan ko.. That time feeling ko sya na ang worst teacher ever! He yells at me whenever I make small mistakes!!! Who would like to learn from that? Haha Sorry, Kuya. :P

My father decided to enroll me to a driving school and I just finished my 10hour course last last last week! Yay! My mother tried changing my mind in enrolling kasi ayaw nyang mag bayad para lang matututo akong mag drive. Magpaturo daw ako sa pinsan ko (eto yung kinukwento ko) at bibigyan nya ko ng summer allowance.. I know, summer allowance? Who wouldn't want that?! Pero ang masigawan ulit? NO. NEVER. AGAIN.

Since I am now done with the hands on driving, all I need to do is attend the 8 hour (2 days) session before I can apply for a certificate and before I can be an official driver. Hahaha :p

I just finished all of the requirements and I now graduate! The lesson talked about the safety measures while driving, the blowfatch, and the road signs. We watched reckless driving videos na eye opener for all.. aaand I just wanna share few important measures I learned (plus the videos hehehe).

  • Always not forget to fasten your seat belts.
Even if you are sitting at the back, use seat belts. You'll never know what might happen..
*insert video*

I will now remember to use the seat belts at the back seat. Ayoko ng brain damage!!!

  • Yield.
If you saw someone crossing the street, yield. Especially if it's an elderly or kids or anyone. Even though you know that they are crossing the wrong way or so.. always and always remember to give way. Sabi ng instructor, "ikaw ang mas nakakaalam, ikaw ang magbigay". Not only to pedestrians but also to the other cars especially if they are on the priority lane.

  • Left, right, left.
In crossing intersections, always not forget this easy head turning step. And.. always be sensitive. Maraming pwedeng maging cause and effect sa kung kanino ang bawat isang accident. NEVER OVERSPEED.

  • Never multi-task while driving!!!
You are multi tasking already when driving.. as much as possible, concentrate and focus on the road. You wouldn't want the car to overrule you and mislead you.

  • Proper attitude.
Above all, my instructor told us that whether you are a pro driver or not if you have bad driving attitude, you can never be safe on the road. Proper attitude leads to proper knowledge to proper driving.

  • and of course, Be responsible + Be Safe

Yeheeeesss! Dami kong natutunan. :P Hahaha feeling like a pro driver lang?! Hooooray because I am learning! I learned lots of things! That summer allowance I hesitated e mas malaki ang balik sakin. Good decision. Actually, learned from my hands on driving instructor na one mistake can lead to big troubles, so dear cousin.. I'm sorry for neglecting you and your teaching skills. You did a great job! Thank you dahil pinagalitan mo ko dati.. I now know why. Haha

All is done. I'm not sure if I can handle driving alone.. I sure hope so, or else. Oh, and I need confidence. Buckets of confidence on the road. Let's all be safe, guys!!

*e sana ma-aapply ko lahat ng natutunan ko hands-on. And I wish to get my license, soon! :)
