As what I have mentioned on my recent What Went On, we go up north to Baguio last a day after Christmas and got back two days before the New Year. It was a very spontaneous trip, I may say. We planned everything when we got out for my cousin's birthday treat. The conversation went something like this:
"Parang masarap pumunta somewhere cold"
"Tara, Baguio!"
"Totoo? Kelan?"
"After Christmas tapos balik din tayo ng 30 or 31!"
"Seryoso?"
"Oo nga! Ano?"
Ganun ganun lang, we planned Baguio with no concrete plans! Hahaha basta our goal was to go there, chill chill, at makatipid! Haha So when we got there we have no place to stay at as in walang plano thinking na holiday season! Haha with a little help from someone we know at Baguio, we got to booked at Silvertone Inn located near Burnham Park. It was cool since at the last minute nakahanap kami ng mura, somehwere near sa bayan and all and that we need not to ride a taxi if we wanted to eat out or go for a walk. But there's quite a catch: medyoooooo creepy sya. The place isn't as clean as how hotels and motels and inns should be, bad lighting, old beddings and fixtures. I don't know if I am just being choosy or maarte pero the place isn't comfortable to stay at all! Sorry SI Management but I am just stating my experience. Butt we have no choice and we are lucky that time we have a place to stay at! Sadly I have no photo but I quite don't recommend the place. Book your place early! Wag tumulad samin!
Anyway, since we got a place at around 5pm, we had an early dinner at Good Taste and went for a walk and grab something hot while we chitchat and played TWBA's Fast Talk! Hahaha
After, we went out for an early midnight snack/late dinner at Night Market. Sarap ng Takoyaki!!!!! We walked up to the bus terminal after to buy out early tickets so we could avoid long lines sa umaga. It's a good thing they were open 24/7!
Early next day, the boyfriend got a call from home saying he needs to be there asap. Sadly, his Lola died hours before he received the call. We immediately got up after consoling, had breakfast, and took him to the bus station and fall in line as a chance passenger. Thank god mabait yung kundoktor ng bus na paalis na, we told them we have an emergency back in Manila and was able to manage to squeeze the boyfriend in thru a monobloc chair. Not comfortable for a long ride but it was super helpful. Four of has stayed to continue our remaining two days stay since we already paid for the hotel and the tickets. The boyfriend doesn't want to spoil the trip and wants us to continue doing what we planned to do even though without him.
Sad that the boyfriend got back to Manila, we continued our day plan with biking at Burnham Park and dinner out at
Quick accident: while biking and hindi ako comfortable sa mountain bike, and since may bike traffic dahil madaming tao, I have to stop a few times to avoid bumping into other bike riders. As I was being safe, ako yung napahamak. While I turned to a stop, my heel was helping me for balance and then two kids riding a big bike pushed through the bike traffic infront of me! As in tuloy tuloy sya making my heel push through habang yung gulong dirediretso (I can't quite explain but please see fig. 1 for reference). And wala akong magawa but to say "ARAY" a few times.
Fig.1
I had to stop sa gilid and endure the pain kasi masakit sya talaga. Nag sorry naman yung bata and of course, I don't want to stress it out at magalit pa and make a scene (not me!). I just rested and had singkamas after to recover! Hahaha
We had dinner at Grumpy Joe which has big servings! Sobrang busog!!! After, we take out some tea ta Starbucks and get the birthday cakes of my cousin for dessert. We cap off the night at the hotel room watching On The Wings Of Love! Haha
Also: Kaya palay may TV kasi we finally had a chance to book a different hotel nearby that morning! One block away from Silvertone! Hindi malayo from the place and very convenient and comfy! There's TV, hot shower, clean room and clean pillows and blankets! Haha also there's CCTV around the hallways. It was a bit higher for about 500php - 1000php pero sobrang keri na! Hahaha sorry, Silvertone!!
The next day we walked up to SM to had brunch and then off we go to BenCab Museum!
Hugot artwork!!
As we were about go out, we saw the great Mastermind behind the museum: Ben Cabral himself!
Capping the night: we went back to SM for our last dinner in Baguio and watched the last full show of Beauty and the Bestie! We just got our things after the movie and went for our long night bud ride going back to Manila!
Here are a few lessons learned and realization from this trip:
- When travelling without the parents, be sure to bring a certain amount of money para hindi laging nag wwithdraw thru machines. Also don't forget the essentials like soap, shampoo, towels, and toothpaste! Haha
- If you're going for a long trip bus ride, be sure to have a small pillow or travel pillow. It's very essential!!
- Buy bus tickets in advance para less hassle and so you won't be ruining your itinerary sa pagpila.
- If going on a holiday, book an early hotel or place to stay at! Wag kami gayahin! Hahahahaha
- If going on a group of 4 or more, it's much efficient if you all have one "banker". You all get to put on all that person a certain amount that you will be needing during the whole trip: hotel/rent, food, transportation, everything except your side expenses like pasalubong or anything na hindi pang lahatan, all on hold of one person - it's much convenient, less hassle at may isang taga bayad. Para hindi lahat naglalabas ng pera or nagccompute. Learned this during our HK trip and we got to do this again for this trip. I recommend!
Also, #route6046 is the hashtag we used for this trip (and for our group, I believe haha) sobrang inisip kasi namin sya ng bongga at dahil dun wala kaming naisip na matino. 6406 is the bus number na sinakyan namin hahahahahaha pwede na diba?
